Hello Doug, I really like this shot and the detail reflected in the owls feathers is outstanding. A shame the cropping took out the right wing. IMHO a lower angle may have brought out more in the eye's. Just a gorgeous bird. Keep shooting.

Hi Doug, What a wonderful shot. The detail and sharpness are great as well as the colors. I agree that having the full wing in the picture would have really help make this a 3T for me.
Great job,
Mark

Nice shot of this Barn Owl Doug. The lighting is very good and allows for great detail on the feathers, which you captured nicely. The pose is also interesting and the bird shows well against the dark background. The impact of the shot is diminished some for me by the cropping though, especially by having the wing cut off on the left side. IMO there is also a little extra space on top that can be removed. Overall good capture.

Thanks to all who commented! This is one of those times where, in the excitement of getting the shot, I just focused and pressed the shutter button. The wing was missing, but I couldn't bear to through it away - it's my only Barn Owl capture.
cheers.
