Great effect, very eye catching and well executed. I would love to know what the colorful background actually is, but perhaps that would ruin the magic...

Graet shoot Tom! Wonderful colours. How did you get this effect? Looks really impressive. It's a pity that the part on top looks too soft. Thank you for sharing. Regards, Daniel =)

Great lighting reflection effect. What did you use for the background? A CD? Do you have any with a slightly deeper focus? I'd be interested to see a version with the entire glass in focus.

The background is another one of my abstract shots on an iPad.

The focus of this macro is well placed on the stem of the glass, and the very shallow depth of field is quite nice. The symmetry works very well as do most of the colors. The large patch of nearly white along the right is distracting, always pulling the viewer's eye away from the focal point. If it were darkened just slightly closer to the tones at the lower left corner I believe the balance would be improved. If you're not averse to post-processing I'd be inclined to sample the tone from lower left, and apply it with a soft brush and low opacity to darken the right only slightly. Kevin
