Focus on eyes is good enough considering we are looking at a jpg, John.. Good DOF with nice 'bokeh' but a tad uneven, perhaps due to post-processing. Color, composition and exposure are fine.

a Fine portrait in the snow, good lighting for colours and sharpness. The monkeys are at a good place for the composition. I like that bothe look to the other side..

Hi John,I like the composition of the picture, I also want to photography them, but never have a chance. I agree with Luc but I think may be you were not focus on their eyes or the lens sometimes doesn't want to do the job when it is too cold. I hope you took more pictures of them ,thanks for sharing.Happy New Year to you,

Nice to hear from you, Peter, and thank you for your perceptive comment. It's not the camera lens that doesn't co-operate in the cold, rather a clumsy photographer with cold fingers! Happy New Year to you, and hope 2012 proves fruitful for you. Best wishes, John.

Really wonderful shot of this Snow Monkeys. Nice composition with the two monkeys looking a different way, with their head above each other. I think there was no much light, because there is no much life in the eyes, no catchlights. Wonderful colors, good sharp both the monkeys. It is also a pity that their are no more details in the snow in the fore and background. But the reason is that there is no light enough, I think. But anyway very good work, John. Regards, Luc

Hi, Luc. Good comment about the light. I don't like to use flash fill, but this is where it could have helped the shortfalls you mention. Many thanks! Best wishes for 2012! John.
