No offense is intended, and quite frankly the image is not that interesting. I understand what you saw with the lines on the table top, but it just doesn't jump out that much. Now if you had a random pattern on the table top and only saw straight lines, then it steps up a notch. Here's a hint; try it with different colors and use a color filter to pass what you want. It's not quite polarization as such, but it can illustrate the same thing very effectively.
