A hot day at the Denver Zoo - this cheetah was distracted for a moment and looked away with mild interest at the business going on in the exhibit next door.

Hi Michael, Harsh time of day to shoot. Technicals are good (exposure, focus) and although this is a wild dangerous animal this image doesn't do much for me - it just looks like a zoo picture, which it is. I think you actually did very well with what you had to work with - especially shooting at eye level with the animal. Regards. David

Hi David - thanks for your comments. You're right - it's a zoo shot. And it was really hot, like 95 degrees in the middle of the day. Anyway, it was one of the best I got that day, at the wrong time, and wrong light. Cheers!

Very nice capture of this animal pondering . . . life? There is just one thing working against you and that is nature not providing proper lighting - dappled light on the head is needed. And that blade of grass . . . you should have removed that before taking the picture! Just shows you how dangerous nit-picking can be.

Thanks for the comments! I would have liked to move that blade of grass, but the cat probably wouldn't have appreciated my nitpicking. I guess I could have cloned it out but when I first saw it, I sort of like it there. A big yawn might have made it more fun but the animal was just too bored I guess!
