Hey guys, new to photography, just kinda figuring it out. This picture I really enjoy. I am a little upset I had to make it smaller, but hey, it is what it is. Any advice for an up and coming photographer? No flash was used Camera- Canon s95

Richard, I like the exposure on this shot. You've managed to keep the detail in the black areas of the bee. I do think the image is a little dark. When I throw it into PS and up the brightness and adjust the contrast accordingly, I bring out that detail in the bee. It the extra brightness gives the photo a little extra impact. The depth-of-field is a little shallow for my taste, but you've definitely got the focus on the bee. Given that he moves around a lot and you've got a good capture. Some will balk at the idea that the be is directly centered in the frame, but I think that's ok. After all, you're going after the bee and there's nothing else in the frame that would make me want to change it.
