This is a very good action shot, IMO there's a lot of uninteresting background that could be cropped out. You have a good sense of speed/action with all the dust flying but the casual spectators in the background detract from that.

1/500 is rather fast for motorcycle races of any sort but from your angle it works reasonably well.

The clipped bikes right frame do not bother me. Normal photography "rules" do not apply to motorcycle races

I did a rather quick edit and the results can be seen here. Just some clone work upper left frame and a 3x2 ratio crop for a reasonable print size.

Regards, Jerry

Hi Alex a good action capture here on the speedway racing with good clarity and detail - agree with Michal about the crop or cloning out the right hand driver. Particularly like the sense of movement created by the billowing clouds of smoke - might try lifting some the dark faces a tad with the shadow/highlight tool. Good control on the exposure and a very nice job - Regards Colin

Great sport action shot, beside cropping into a panorama format works well here. Maybe only I would like to suggest you to try to cropp a little bit right side of photo, because there are cutted bikes, it is a pity, but this is my suggestion only. Photo made from a good place. Thank you for sharing. Regards, Michal.
