If this is not posed, nor a choreographed scene from a practice for a performance of this story, I find this a remarkable capture of the human condition and the pressures all performers face in a competitive world. What particularly grabs attention are those fan like hands the mean group of three are hiding behind. While the facial expression, the hunched shoulders, the gaze directed out of the room, and the buried hands of the unfortunate soul in front, all combine to tell the story in one glance. I like your use of different lighting sources, your choice of B&W, and the soft focus seems appropriate. Great shot! John.

has a ring of authentic look, like the emotions are real, and not faked, so an excellent catch the moment, if so,, poor girl, and the meanness of the girls in the back, kinda makes your wonder.. but excellent post.

Nice photo and it captures in essence what a life in the ARTS can be like every day, especially the life of a dancer...you don't fit in with the norm and everyone outcasts you.
Only criticism i have is the fact i can't see the victim's hands. I suppose one could argue that it adds to the awkwardness of the shot but it looks a little weird to me!

Wonderful use of natural lighting. The black and white adds a certain timelessness to the piece. My eyes go right where I suspect they should in this photo do to your composition and dof. Nice work!

very nicely done - having the two windows at opposite sides and so bright could be distracting, but I think the people in the shot keep our attention where it should be. The slight soft focus on the back girls works well and I really enjoyed this - John

Hi Bruno,
The expressions are excellent, very emotive as you have labeled the photo. I like it. I feel sorry for the subject in the photo. I don't know if the white is a bit bright or not. I think the head of girl on the right of the three in the back almost looks like it is cut out because of the brightness of the light behind her. It's a really great photo. Lots of emotion and very natural looking.
Nice one !
Frank

I think you have captured this very well. The focus and DOF are great. I easily 'get' the story here. a great shot.
