This appears to be overdosed with blue Larry. It's good to see some water splashing around as it gives some life to an otherwise pretty static photo.

The crew of the boat might like a print but for the rest of us it's a bit static & lacks impact. The composition though neatly fitting the boat in is more designed to please a few people (the owner & crew) than to be interesting.

Regards, Ian.

Thanks. It's a portrait of the yacht, not actually an action shot. Yes, a few people liked it. All of the crew and the owner of the boat and Southern Star Shipping have 30 x 40's. My 30x40's sold for $350 but I offered quantity discounts for large orders. The original prints, cropped more closely, and ads produced over $5,000 in income. Yes, it's bluish in this computer interpretation. I have a 30x40 right here, about eight feet away.

When I was a professional, using film, I would get a second copy of any print made for free, if I could wait one week for pickup from Ross-Ehlert. That's how I built a large inventory of samples, mostly 8x10's of course, but in Kodak RC paper boxes, they were handy for carrying along to display some prints. Now I have books and books, boxes and boxes of samples. I no longer sell anything though my photos are requested every day.

I have a thread on a website that shows many of my images. The thread has 243,000+ views so far, after 6-1/2 months. : )

By the way, why do you think you speak for "the rest of us?"

I think was Ian means is: you and others that were there have an emotional attachment to this beautiful and exciting event that the rest of us do not share.

"It's a portrait of the yacht, not actually an action shot."

Why then categorise it as Sports & Performance?

Nice action shot. The boat is well positioned in the frame, it is sharp. The color doesn't look right to me, it is too blue. If an image has white in it, I often try "auto color" to see what happens. I often revert, sometimes I like the color cast. Or, I might revert and do the adjustment manually.

Thanks, Matt. Before you Revert, try using the Fade Auto Tone slider, or Auto Color. It's an ultra blue interpretation, my choice. I cranked up the blues a tad with Selective Color and Saturation.
