hi Tom, Focus looks fine and the image has nice tonality. Overall exposure looks pretty good but the image would be stronger if the two men in the room behind the musician (who look a bit washed out) stood out better. It took me a while to notice them. I'm sure part of the issue is that it's a very busy image.

While I wish those two men stood out more, I do think the overall clutter and busy nature of the image increases the interest factor of the photo. Two exceptions would be that dark shadowy thing on the floor in the foreground to the right of the stool and the grayish smeared looking stuff on the wall to the left of the strobe light.

The stool adds foreground interest, the way the man and the strobe light make a diaganol line in the frame, as well as the way the man is placed off-center, are strengths of your composition. Just a bit more space on the right so the keyboards aren't so close to the edge would improve the composition.

I'm not so sure about the timing though. You had snapped this at a moment when his hands were on his knees and while he was reading the music. Timing might have been better if you snapped the photo when he was playing the keyboards. Perhaps you also made a photo like that though?

Anyway, it's a nice picture and I enjoy it. 1 1/2 thumbs up. Cheers! sheila
