Mostly overcast day had started to have random pockets of sun making exposures tricky. Shutter on this one was 1/6, and ended up with exposure compensation down to -2.7 in addition to the ND filter. Not a true HDRI as I have been experimenting more with tonal contrasting. I think it gives a less harsh look than HDRI.

Amy, it's a wonderful image, and I think you've done well with colors and composition. It certainly has great mood. BUT I do think your midtones are much too dark and need to be lightened to add some "punch". Then you have a 2.5-3TU image IMHO. thanks for sharing, regards, Ryan

Thank you for the suggestion Ryan! I will "go back to the drawing board" and do a little more work and see how it turns out!

Very soothing capture of Tremont! The mood is great, I like the fact that this was taken in almost full shadow. The small hints of bright light and color help set the atmosphere and mood. This reminds me of Anna Ruby Falls in Northern Georgia. I wish image was posted just a little larger to fully enjoy the view. Nice one Amy! Bob

Ah Bob, good critique from you warms my heart! The sun was trying to sneak in on the back side, we had to pack up and move on a few minutes after I got this one, but we had a good 45 minutes at this location so no complaints! Still getting the hang of posting size on here, I'll get it soon, promise!

I love the way you have brought out the tones on this. I have to ask if this is in Brecon, Wales?

Thank you so much Lorraine! No, this is actually an area called Tremont in Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Tennessee, USA. Does it look very much like Wales?

I can show you almost the same shot taken in Brecon, South Wales!

this is nice, make a layer in CS, and lighten the trees abit more, to bring out some details. I know you want that bit of water over to the left, but compare crops to see which is stronger of an image. overcast days are the best I find for taking moving water shots.

Thank you for taking the time to comment and critique my image!! I really hate the upload process here, as you do lose alot of detail in the images. There is more detail in the trees before the upload. I tried a variety of crops, but I really like the curve of the drop pool in front with this one. I have a vertical of this that I may post in a few days if you wish to check back and compare them! =)
