Interesting and unique angle. Focus is well on the eyes. But given the dominance of its body in the rest of the image, it calls for more DOF so it does not appear blurry. If the body was also in focus, it would have been 3TUs. The background's texture takes away from the overall image. In my opinion, a less textured BG would be better.

My brain interprets the slightly out of focus body as blurry (reasoning that it is a macro, and possible that the lens shook or the spider was not still) :) just a subjective point of view.

Wow, what an absolutely perfect macro of a spider. I like how it's so sharp you can see the individual hairs on the carapace.
