Another world cup 2010 football stadium taken at first light last month. The newly built stadia are architecteral dreams and this one is no exception. The world cup is creating a frenzy in this country, South Africa with millions of vibe S Africans and visitors. Once in a lifetime.

Very beautiful photo. The framing is very interesting and the very suggestive simplicity. Perhaps it would have improved a little if you had included in the image a bigger portion of the base improving his proportion with the curved element.

Ricardo, The arch runs from the ground acroos the length of the stadium and supports the roof of the stands along each side of the playing area-- this is the normal siszed soccer field. The box/lift runs on top of this arch along a rail and holds 20 or so occupants. I will post a full view of the whole structure shortly. Thanks for your input. John Read

Nice detail picture. But maybe there to be told what this is. It is also above a stadium, or over a road .. Thank you for sharing this photo

John, This monorail runs from ground level up over the lenth of the open stadiun and with the cables supports the roof of the stands. Thanks for your comments. Will send a full pic soon. John Read
