Although it was dark, and snow was falling, I was taking a series of winter family snapshots when a small avalanche descended with a "whoomph" on the slope behind where my daughter was standing. She was distracted for a mere second, but I was pleased to discover she had been rather nicely framed. What do you think?

Well seen and good photographed, a beautiful picture. The colours popping out of the snow. Good lighting and a perfect composition. Thanks for sharing.

She walking on snow .. snow falling from havens .. framed by the nature and put in frame so well dear John :) snow is rendered so well with its texturs to give me a chilly feel .. Pink makes it pop up against the BG .. you got too much snow there .. I like it but don't like to walk in it ;) best of regards.. JOYIA

Hello, Joyia. Thank you for your poetic words. Her presence is actually a little more prosaic. We had a fun few days with friends up in the mountains one hour from where we live, all returning to childhood for a while, but finally having to be rescued by snow ploughs for the second straight year! It's a seasonal thing, and now we 're simply looking forward to spring! Best regards, John.

Inspiring work and a nice mix of being in the right spot at the right time and skill with the camera. Top quality in my eyes.

Really good to get your feedback, Bill. I do admire your work. This was pure luck, and the camera took care of the quality, but thank you for your kind words. John.

Hi John - a great moment caught! I really like the unusual look of the background and her pose and color seem ideal for this shot - would have liked just a little more light on her face, and i'd crop the top a tiny bit to remove the darker area that makes it feel a bit too heavy - light is the key to this one! John

Hi, John. Very pleased you came in on this one, and with your usual nuggets of good advice - for which I thank you! I'll work on the crop and face. I was happy there was just enough light available. BTW how do you think the new cameras compare? John.
