Saw her standing in the street at a local fair, talking to others and holding a dog on a leash at her feet. Asked her if she would look back over her shoulder at me (giving me a chance to back up to my prior position). She kindly obliged and gave one with a smile and this one, a litte more serious.

Shot at 173mm.

I like her pose and expression - very natural and pleasant - lighting is soft and i like that too - the crop at her elbow is unfortunate, and the background while mostly good has those work sawhorses(?) that are a little distracting - John

John, we were in the middle of the street and those were street baracades. Regards to you.

Either tighter cropp or a wider one wich include the whole arm / hand would be much, much better. Event better if you had kept focal length at 200 mm and moved forward / backward in order to keep maximum DOF as shallow as possible. Pitty couse other tech staff like sharpness and colors are wery good. My two cents, keep shooting.

Thanks Tomislav. But a bit lower, I would have gotten part of the dog and certainly part of the leash, and that wouldn't have worked either. Regards.

Eugene, very nice street portrait! Perfect exposure, DOF and colors. Obviously, very good looking lady, quite relaxed and natural, good eye contact. I'm pretty sure she is satisfied with this image.

In perfect world though, I would love to see her elbow positioned better (no idea how though) and back more straight.

Thanks for sharing!
Alex

Thanks Alex. I'm always cautious about commenting about posture regarding someone I don't know. Regards.

Great street shot, even better street portrait. Good exposure and you've managed to make the rather mundane background blur out nicely. More importantly you have managed to entice a really compelling expression out of a complete stranger. The light on her face is beautiful, you've managed some stellar catchlights.
