Hi Hans, this is a very nice shot of an ibis. The color and the fine details in the feathers are well captured. Nice angle getting the whole reflection included to give a very good composition. The black background helps to make the bird stand out. But the edges of both the bird and the reflection look not so perfect to me. As mentioned by the previous critiquer there is a leaf tip shaped space between the rear of the bill and the left of the neck needs to be black also. Hope you understand what I am saying. This is still a very beautiful bird that I always like to take a picture of. Regards Robert.

I like the idea of this photo. But I can see a slight white fringe from the cropping. Personally, when I crop, I go inside the subject just a touch to help prevent this. Also, the reflection just doesn't seem to be convincing enough for me. You should've maybe used a Multiply or darken layer and dropped the opacity to 40-50%. That fixes the matte shadow effect. Cheers.

Great technique and captivating photo. Love the sharp eye and catchlight. Nicely done. Looks like a large print would cause people to say WOW. The catchlight might be enhanced if it is a bit light. TFS. Bill
