Great shot. This "small" mushroom looks HUGE the way you took it, which draws me to look at the picture even more. However the severe out of focus foreground is distracting. I also agree that the fly is distracting since its such a minor subject...but still sticks out, not enough to appreciate. Exposure looks good. Some of the grass is distracting too. The background grass would be fine if there was no foreground, and adjacent wisps of grass. I'm being picky all around. But greatness is in the details. Getting more "under" the mushroom even more may intensify the "largeness" look you may be going for. Just an idea. Keep shooting...

Really nice shot! Perfect sharpness and nicely blurred background. You handled the harsh light quite well. I'm not too keen on the oof foreground, though, and (nitpicking now..) I'd be tempted to clone the oof blade of grass growing out of the top of the fungi.
Good work, Hans!
All the best / Eric

Hi Hans. I like light, composition and the lovely blue background. However I'd like it even more if there's no insect on the plant. But maybe that's a personal thing.
