Absolutely beautiful bokeh. The lighting brings out the muted colors and makes it look like a Chinese or Japanese painting. May have been even stronger with a tighter composition, losing the branches on top.

Thanks a lot, Dirk for the kind review. I thought the branches on top were important because did not want to leave the composition open on the top, but of course it's a matter of opinion. - thanks - Adam

In my opinion this photo doesn't deserve -1. I've saw on this gallery many picture with such mark - with 3 levels lower photographic level. This one is quite interesting - a nature in details. Well composed and framed.

Hi. Interesting image. The narrow depth of field and the colour contrast provide an attractive pictorialistic look. Perhaps a closer crop would help to simplify the composition making the image more effective. Regards.

Thank you, Hector, for your consideration and review. I appreciate it very much, especially after viewing your photos here. This is, in fact, a small cut of a much larger picture. I found the squarish frame of the twigs interesting and thought that their nakedness emphasized the flower buds. - Adam

Adam, Interesting possibilities here but I think you need to focus on the stems in the middle and the buds on them while eliminating some of the extras on the side. Need a clearer focus. Even a clearer focus in this picture would add to its interst. Guy

You see, Guy, when the flowers and the stems are both within the DoF, they both would come out equally sharp. Also, what you call "extras" were meant to be elements of the copmposition. Also, I softened the sharpness a little because this seemed the right thing to do for the overall mood of the image. Sharpness is not everything, in fact, if you care to look, you'll find on the PhotoSig many wonderful pictures that are not sharp at all. But thanks. - Adam
