Thumb-down    from vettri/Jayavel (7,103) Send mail to this user on June 21, 2009 7:04:43 AM CDT (1) Early critique

Hi Krish, I agree with Simon. I am giving a TD after a long time (I thought I would never give one anymore)... mainly because you say, you appreciate honest critiques. If rust is your subject? this doesn't work. Sharpness (problem with resizing after these many uploads or did you forget USM?) has to be better and DOF more to appreciate this. Composition - too vacant, unbalanced and uninteresting for me. Cob webs don't look good here. Realization? this title doesn't allow much room for that. Framing is bad - tilted vertical at the right and distractions at the edge and corner don't work. There are simply too many things that has gone wrong. Some of them technical and not very subjective. Might be a potential subject but this execution is bad, IMHO. Regards, Jayavel.

Sorry Krish, this is the first time I have given a minus two thumbs, but I feel that this image is so irredeemably flawed that this is the only fair critique I can give it. The image is not sharp, the highlights are blown & the shadows lack detail, there are distracting 'bits' creeping into the bottom RHS of the image & again a third of the way up the same edge, the background is distracting and given the title of the picture there is very little of it. I cannot help but think I am looking at a different picture to the previous reviewer? Sorry again to be so negative about this image but I can see nothing in it that appeals to me.

I never mind for getting TD from honest critique. I reviewed your critique minutely and opine that your critique is somewhat deliberate. I agree on sharpness, but not blown out highlights and detail-lacking shadows as the circumstances under which I shot the pic never give us better result. I agree again with the 'bits' which I admit as a processing flaw yet not considered for TD. There are other parts of a picture like composition, framing, texture level, realization etc. which an honest critique should never miss. Sorry for my honest reply. Regards, Krish.

Hi Krish... Love this shoot mate. You have done very well fair ending to the title Abstract. The subject fall through over the frame is well balanced but in my opinion if you care more about sharpness it'll double the expression but it doesn't matter nice creation. Best of luck. Rasika

Yes, the pic is not that sharp but comparing the original processed one, I thing alteration of resolution while uploading to PhotoSig may be one of the reasons. I am not sure of it though. Thanks. Regards, Krish.
