F/4.5, ISO 100, 1/800 sec @ 17 mm. Haven't been on Photosig in AGES, but I'm tending a sick cat and have the time to rediscover my old haunt. Hello again! Working with vintage toning and landscapes lately. Definitely not natural colors, but makes me smile nonetheless. This beautiful tree lives near Mt. Figueroa, near Los Olivos, California, on the central coast an hour or so from my home. A grueling hike with rock climbing friends left me plenty of time to explore with my camera while they climbed rocks, and this was one of my favorites at the end of the day. Thoughts?

Photography would have been better if the foreground was sharp. But it is not. I would have removed the bottom half of the image, then the center will become a tree. Good luck.

I think this is very creative and you've captured the feeling of this part of the world. Critically, (imho), the colors (sky especially) are bland and there is too much foreground in the shot. The tree feels a little lost in the field of straw. thanks. m
