Deann you are missing a lot of detail within the flower itself. In this instance I would have used the spot meter function on your camera positioning the spot in the center of the flower then recompose and shoot. The contrasting bright sky has caused the camera to exclude the detail from within the flower. If you shot in RAW you may be able to bring some of the detail back in post using the shadow command.

Thanks for the critique. I did shoot in raw, I'll retry a little work on it. I was trying to not blow out the sky when I shot it. It was also the only time I could be there that day- just after noon.(: Tks
