i think using the sigma 12-24 to get "sloping in" is quite effective, for me the colour is over the top.

I like the colours of the picture, they give it a beautiful sphere. Therefore the lighting was well done. The view is also made in a good composition. I like it.

It is a nice composition, with the gondolas radiating out from the background, and there are some interesting textures in the water.

To my eye, this is just too warm. It doesn't look natural.

The title doesn't match the photo. I'm aware that Venice has water problems right now, but this is not apparent from the photo. If you are familiar with this spot, maybe the water looks especially threatening, but as far as I can see, there is nothing unusual about the water level. The docks are still above the water's surface. This is a nice picture of Venetian watercraft, but it doesn't suggest 'hopefulness' or flooding to me.

Thank you Jay. Your point about the warmth is well taken. As for the title, the picture was taken about two months ago, and the title was just a sincere wish for the current difficulties facing the city right now. EK
