Now this is a very nicely blurred background Dave, would have been nice if the antenna's where sharp as well, maybe if you have a subect this small you could use the centre focus area only, focus on the head of your subject, then compose and press, I know shooting out of hand is a bit tricky, cause your bound to move the slightest bit very soon, and your talking mm here, could be better to use a tripod if your shooting bugs a lot, good shot, best regards, Kees.

Dave, this is a great shot! The focus is clear and sharp enough to see the soft texture of the butterfly body. Depth of field has very effectively isolated the butterfly from the background (and nicely blurred the b.g.) while keeping the immediate environment, on which the butterfly is standing, in focus. The colour contrast of the warm orange of the Butterfly is perfectly contrasted with the cool green of the background. You have created a line to lead our eye to the butterfly, an excellent use of a diagonal within the frame. Lighting may be a little soft for my taste, but nevertheless, a real treat for the eye. Dan
