July Assignment: Use these settings: shot at f/5.6 and 1/125. One of my Blue Iris. This is the first year that they have bloomed. I was taking lots of pictures, and playing with f-stops and shutter speeds. I then remembered about the assignment. Luckily I took one at the right shutter speed!

I find this very elegant. Iris's are one of my favorite flowers. I looked like crazy and can only fine one pixel blemish on the left just above half way. Either way I still like how you represented it. Thanks for sharing.

I think your flower is beautiful, well detailed and the color is great. There is a red dot on it that could be removed, as well as two white dots on the left and more red dots at the bottom.

Check if you have a noise reducer on your camera to avoid those dots, or do a pixel mapping?

Thanks Jacline. My Olympus C2040Z doesn't have any nice features like a noise reducer, and it is notorious for leaving red and white dots. I usually try to look over a picture to find those, and on my screen I'm not seeing them. I check this one out further in PS, up close. Unfortunately, the early digital Olympus' were notorious for this problem. I am not sure what you mean by pixel mapping? Usually I just seek them out and cloning the out. Edit: I need stronger glasses! I really had to look hard using these to see the dots on the screen here.

I am reviewing your camera on Megapixel.net and I see you have image quality option, use the JPEG ~ SHQ ~ size 1600X1200 for best quality, on Manual (M) , making sure you use the right light and focus (f) , in the settings, make sure your sharpness is on NORMAL. I see no pixel mapping (this usually corrects lost pixels)

And lets hope for the best? I like Olympus for the lens quality, I do own a C740UZ :)

Thanks Jacline for the input. That is how I have my settings. What I really want is a DSLR! I usually shoot in Manual mode, and bracket the shot using a variety of shutter speeds and/or f-stops.

well, maybe your camera needs an ajustment.......I wish for a new camera also but I am aiming for the Lumix DMCFZ18, it has all I need and is compact also, no need for extra lens (as I use photography for hobby, not work)

when money is better this is what I will get:)

good luck on your side for a new camera:)
