Cute, funny, well executed!
I like the DOF and its a great moment, captured!
I personally don't see it as "Artisically and Technically Flawless", but then again, the rating system on here is horribly flawed anyways.
- cheers!

LOL!! He must just gotten bit by the Haagen-Das bug. Pretty soon he'll be as fat as a little pig. I used to shovel down a quart a night (vanilla swiss almond) of the stuff. Whether posed or accidental, it's a great catch.

Brilliant moment! A tiny bit of cloning (white on the bottom right) and some vignetting around the squirrel to reduce the apparent business of the background would make it even better - excellent capture Todd - John

Great capture. It is easy to anthropromorphize this image, the squirrel looking so much like a human. Excellent cropping, lighting, DOF, and color. The brick edging of the sidewalk through the squirrel's head and distractive background leaves... but in situations like this, a definite "grabshot" LOL, you get what you can get when you can get it. This on put an instant smile on my face. TED

I love the amount of focus you have on the subject. The background becomes something your eyes don't want to bother with, can't tear my eyes away from the cutie with the ice cream. Awesome job!

I like your photo. DPChallenge has a challenge with the subject Advertisement. I am not sure if it is still open but you should check it out. I believe your photo stands a good chance of winning.
In my view, you could further enhance your photo for the advertising subject by cropping the tip of the tail from the top and right. And crop the edge of the feet from the bottom. Also, I would crop the bright green grass on the left of the picture. Or leave it as it is. Good luck.

This belongs on the front page imo!! ....just a great, commercial shot!! Could have made the Super Bowl commercials with a goo script.....the lighting and ficus are right on the money....to be 100% hnest (I dodn't read any crits or replies yet), I don't know if you post processed that ice cream container in or not! That makes it even more "believable!" Good depth and colors as well.
Thanks for a great, original shot! It's refreshing!

Thanks Mike. Incredibly, this squirrel actually picked up this container out of a trash bin at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. My wife thought it was cute and couldn't believe I captured the moment. Maybe a Häagen-Dazs VP will take note and the rest will be history---sort of like the ice cream (of course it had nuts)! I am glad you enjoyed the photo.

Todd---It's a shot in a million, but if it was me, I'd withdrawl (not delete) the shot and place a copyright on it & send it to HD.
Who knows?

This has star quality - ;o) - It doesn´t even need a headline, just start printing those posters and have Haagendas transfer the money to yur account. Great Squirrel shot. ;o)-max-

Hi Todd,
Lovely shot... And you have done a great job by catching such a clear and crisp image with a nice DOF in presumably a very short time... If I am to be very picky, I could say, the light was a bit too direct and strong, but this is something over which you had no control of course... Thanks for sharing...

Great subject, good composition, crop, and focus. Nice capture of a very cute moment! Would have given it 3TU, but it was poor product placement for the label. Next time your model is going to do an endorsement, have them pose with the label facing more towards the camera. Nice shot!!

The fact you were able to capture this moment is very Impressive :).
There is a white area in the lower right corner that could be cloned out and the Background, even though it's nicely blurrd it's a little noisy.
Other than that, this is a Excellent picture...great job :).
