Hi Jason,

Thanks for your positive comments and the 3 TU!  I find that knowing the shot info helps me when writing a critique of an image, so in turn I make sure to include them in mine whenever I can.

Don't you just hate balding primates who comb their hair forward like this? ;-) Joking criticism of your model aside, this is fabulous. Spot on focus, great bokeh, terrific color and detail - just an all around great photo. Bravo for your excellent judgment...and patience!

Just a wonderful pose and great light/detail - only minor thing I'd work on is the white object behind his head - some careful cloning there would make this even better - I'm calling it 2.7TU rounded up slightly - good shooting! John

I swear, Tom, you've got these apes trained to sit for you and do your bidding. Great stuff, this, and you're getting me to look forward to your orangutan pictures.

Great timing and well done capture with all aspects working towards a very fine submission. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your kind comments and the 3 TU!  It's mainly luck, and a lot of patience, that I manage to get these shots.  I visit the zoo on almost weekly basis and spend at least two hours each time just watching these guys.  Most days, I come home with nothing special.  Once in a while, I'm blessed with good lighting, good position, and right timing. :-)

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom, Well you have earned your points here not only with your unique and humourous photo but with your own sense of humour on your comments and title. Your DOF is spot on and the moment is so beautifully captured. This is a shot I would put on my wall or perhaps in the kids room. Congratulations on this top shot. Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the 3 TU!  I'm truly honoured that you liked my photo enough to consider displaying it in your home.  Most times it takes a while to come up with a title and at other times with a photo like this, it just pops into my head. :-)

Regards,
Tom

Well I can't fault it - I think this is wonderful, technically perfect and full of expression and almost tenderness - I love it.
