The Fire Boat John J. Harvey has been in dry dock getting a bunch of repairs being done since this past December. They are hoping to have her back in the water in the next couple of weeks. For more info about the this awesome piece of history check out http://www.fireboat.org

I photographed the John J. Harvey in the water off Battery Park in 1974 or so. Perhaps it was difficult to do so while in drydock, but wish you could have gotten a three quarter shot from the bow. When she gets back in the water, shot her again. Bet she would look good in HDR.
