We were privileged to have this little friend join us for breakfast this morning. Came within 10 feet of our dining room window. The kid's family was hanging around in our front yard. We watched it for over 1/2 hour.

A rare shot. It must be difficult getting a shot like this . A lovely photo, great pose and colours. To me it looks like the body is more in focus than the head, none the less a beautiful picture of a shy animal.

One of the benefits of having large windows in the house is the wildlife we get to see. One of the drawbacks is the windows are tinted to block out the sun to some extent. Add that to the day being very cloudy/overcast, I had to use a very slow speed for hand-held (at least in my case). I think the out-of-focus you are seeing is more a shake of the hand. I also cut off the poor guy's feet in the picture. I keep trying to slow down when I have such an opportunity, but it is difficult because I get so excited at the opportunity. As for colors, I wonder if the overcast day made the colors deeper. If someone knows how that works, let me know. All in all, it was a treat this morning. Thanks for the comments.

Possibly motion blur as I'm sure the animal was moving. You are lucky to live in such a location. The rarest thing I got to see was a woodpecker in my garden, it was a bit too far away for my old camera to cope with though. Other than that it's squirrels, domestic cats or trains (we have a train track at the end of the garden!!).
