Anhinga drying its wings. Photo made at Ding Darling WLR, Florida. The shade has added a strong blue cast to the feathers.

Extraordinary capture, Greg! Fantastic sharpness and feather details. Eye could be a bit sharper, but this is just to much for ask. Colors are great. Excellent job you did. Regards, Sasa

A work of art! The Anhinga is posing very well and showing off his striking and colourful plumage which you captured perfectly. Janet

There you go, Greg! Glad you persevered with this guy and got this beautiful portrait. Those feathers like a small fireworks display close to! The colours and tones are very attractive (love those blues you've found in this bird!) and you've caught them in fine detail, if a tad blown in places. Like the contrasting BG, too, although I would have blurred the BG vegetation a bit more. Great shot.! Thank you for sharing. John

Hello greg: I have been there last march and the first time through ding darling I drove the next morning my wife dropped me off at the rear entrance with my MarkII and my 100-400mm and I walked through very early before they even opened the front gate there is no gate in the rear however it is marked one way so I was walking only one way.Greg This is a very impresive shot I crazy about how the sun showed up on the Bluish feathers and the head great shot greg and if you ever go back remember the back way and if you dont want to walk rent a moped and do it . greg: amazing photo. great pose. the feather detail is superb. I even like the white border - it nicely complements the white feathers of the bird.

The color may be off Greg, but this is still one of the best shots of this bird I have seen. It's sharp thoughout. Great feather detail too. The eye is sharp enough with a nice catchlight. Foreground adds nicely to the shot, and thebg is dark enough to not detract, although it would have been nice to have it more blurred. The whites on the right are slightly blown, and the blacks below the neck have no detail, but I suspect that is because we are looking end-on at the feathers there. I'd be happy if this was mine - 2.5tu ~ Ron

Greg this is fabulous.... the focus is sharp, the lighting wonderful, the colors are fantastic....DOF is great...I like how your background makes the bird pop and is just muted enough to let you see what it is without taking away from the overall image.
