I was going for a gritty and honest portrait. ISO 1600, speedlite bounced off nearby wall for lighting.

Alan, you achieved your stated objective. This is effective, well done and very clean for a shot taken at 1600 ISO. Did you clean the image in post production? Regards..Hank

Thanks for your critique. No image cleaning or any other retouching was used. Just levels adjustment and the conversion to B&W using two adjustment layers of hue/saturation.
