Hi Mary. This photo has a nice composition but can be improved by lightening it some and adding some sharpness to the nose area. Thanks for sharing your kitty. ~Shawn.

Thanks for the comments, Shawn! I thought the original was sharper. I have to agree it looks soft here. I'll try to coax the cat into a scene with better lighting ;-)

The title, "Mouse's Last View," needs a little bit of explanation. The cat seems oblivious to the camera, that is, he does not seem to be aware of the camera. It would be nice if he was looking into it. His coat blends into the background, so, to bring out his form and coat, I would put him against a plain background. A bit of backlighting would also light his fur against the background. Some attention to these details would greatly enhance the photograph.

Well, the cat was alarmed by the camera, and I think I had her full attention; but I agree that she doesn't look particularly predatory ;-) I appreciate the suggestion to back-light, though. The real point of taking the photograph was to play with lighting -- you can see the reflection of the flash on the wall behind the camera in the cat's eyes. Thanks for the comments, Mary!

very cute cat. nice shot as well. you def have good critical focus on the eyes. as you listed, you are going for humor so if you are just playing around, the shot would be just fine. otherwise to improve, you may try putting your cat somewhere with a less distracting background. or you could fix it in PS. thanks, -nick

Thanks for your comments, Nick. I agree that the background is distracting, and there's not enough to separate my cat from it.
