This one may not be flawless technically, but artistically, it surely is, so it's getting a three from me. Sometimes you just have to be in the right place and the right time. I think this one would be great as a large print hanging on your living room wall. I just realized that the chin of the rear animal is not the only thing that proves it is real, but I just noticed the two overlapping left ears. Great.

Hi Michael, this is a really interesting idea, I like it! The fur of the "animal on the right side" seems more blur than the other, but I think is not a big problem. The tones are very good, I like it and are better than the usual black and white for this image. Best regards, Enrico

This shot is just great...No sense in judging the quality when there has already been enough previously. I'll just say you are one lucky individual to be in the spot you were when the picture was captured. Other then the slight visibility of the second head of the zebras, one would think you manipulated the photo with an image editor. Thanks for sharing this shot...excellent job.
Note....I've read before that no two zebras have the same stripes. Similar to human finger prints. After studying the photo for awhile, I do see some distinct variances in stripes between these two zebras. Although I wouldn't want to study the stripes of a whole heard of zebras looking for dissimilarities to prove or disprove they are all different.

I can't resist but add 3 TU to this excellent photo. Great timing and alignment! One of my favorites for at least the last month here. I like the tone, but I would like to see it a bit brighter, but it's probably just my ancient monitor. Congrats!

wow, what a great shot! i too thought that it was a clone at first glance but realized it wasn't when the stripes didn't match. in fact, i was so pleased when it wasn't a clone and got even more excited about the photo. a question, how many shots did you fire off before getting this excellent one?

I did it with only two shots, they were actually quite calm and on their way to an overshaded feeding ground.

One of the best photos I've seen in a long time - it epitomizes 'catching the moment'.
I suggest you made the right move NOT removing the nose of the other as it would then turn your shot into a Photoshop contrivance, which it is not.

What a lucky guy you are! A great picture. I think it's good you didn't remove the nose of the second zebra, because now one can see it's really a good timed picture in stead of a photoshoptrick.

I left the one nose in as a clue. Initially I want to crop it out, but I found it is nice as is.

This is a stunningly wonderful photo. I'm curious - How long did you have to wait, and how many times did you have to re-position yourself? This is just superb. Sharp, clear, light balance, DOF, all perfect. Wow!

Great capture Michael, perfectly executed and cropped. The warm sepia adds to the surreal appearance and the humor of the shot. It takes a while to understand who's who, but even when it's figured out it doesn't make me stop smiling. Very nice work! Regards, U.

Great, great, great Michael. You are totally right - it pays off to be patient. Amazing photo - the way the zebras stand, and how You captured the momentum. BW photo just underlines colours of nature in this photo. No doubt 3TU, and don't know is there any flaw. All the best - tea123
