Late evening with backlit dust from the feet and a jackal nearby. Etosha Namibia again at a waterhole. Tripod and remote control used.

Idiko, Thank you for your useful critique. Enjoyed this waterhole in Etosha, Namibia which is teeming with animal movement, both big and small. Regards, Johnno

Hi Rob, Being new, a "non-conforming" thumbs up means nothing. Perhaps you can enlighten me? Etosha is a non-conforming wild place where the animals look tame but are to be treated at all times as unpredictable and "non-conforming". Especially elephants if they have young ones. Thanks anyway for the comments. John

The light is just about spot on, I just wish there was a bit more detail in the rough skin of the elephant. The jackel tagging along on his heals adds alot for me . Very nice Steve

Steve, Your comments are noted with thanks. Will brush up on my "digital darkroom" techniques now that I have more time. Regards, Johnno

Hi John. Lighting is the key to photography. Here you have some wonderful backlight on the dust and the jackal. The elephant is in that in-between area where I can make out details but not well enough to enjoy easily. If you have some post processing know-how perhaps you could selectively brighten the big guy and maybe add some more contrast to the rest of the scene to make the dust and backlighting show stronger. 1.5TU :)Robin
