One of the finest landscapes I've ever seen. You have captured an incredibly beautiful place and captured it well. Can't really call this a critique...its really a praise...but hey thats good too, right?? Very well done

What can I say... Perfect shot. Colors, exposition, DOF, beautiful landscape... Yes it's a "classique" but I like that. :)

Hello
It's stunning . really , congratulation ... didn't you use a ND grad filter ? only polarizer ? The melted green / blue / yellow is excellent, vert original foreground , ... this is flawless . for me.

No doubt it's an above average, high quality shot, but it just doesn't grab me as a 3 TU. The think frame detracts and distracts almost to the point of interfering with viewing and analyzing the photo without it. Shot is composed a little too narrow IMO.

hi Patrick , very nice shot specialy colours and mood, vertical compositon with good point interest basicly always work no doubt, but Iam not sure in this case, horizont trees line and line rock below kinda separate this shot for two diferent parts, this lines driwe eyes out from photo before I see green vater down... I think ( I love vertical shots but)in this case horizontal composition shout work better ,totaly eliminate upper horizont line , put more attenion for ART and detail feelings , blue/orange smooth lake vater + rock with green water inside , I know totaly diferent photo in end but ...(that like i see this shot) thx for sharing , keep shoting

Patrick, this is excellent work. The colors are rich and balanced, the composition is full but not too far pushed to the edges, and technicals are quite well-managed. In terms of visual design, this image is laden with interlocking triangles that are strong and create motion. To my eye, it might be that tiny bit stronger if the bottom were slightly cropped; the angle in the rock at the bottom right drags the eye to the edge of the image on longer viewing. Also, this one is a tough call between the ND filters and digital blending to leave a little detail in the far shore, but I think it works here as is. These two points are very minor - not worth even a half point - so this is three thumbs. A minor presentation nit: the sharpening in the jpeg makes the horizon stand out too much, and masking it off the far edge of the water would make the jpeg nicer (but I don't hold that against the image in this case). Onward.

Expert use of near-far composition. There are many elements in this image, the sky, the sun, the background hill, the arch and the green pool. Amazingly, this photographer integrated the elements into complex yet cohesive image.

The composition great as always. I can see that you probably used Nd gradual filters, could you write what filters?

Composition is excellent. Texture of rock, reflection on water is great. Lighting and exposure are perfect. Very sharply focused. Colors are beautiful. Photo taken at just the right time. I love the sun creeping below the trees. Congratulations on an excellent photograph.

What a pleasure to see. I like the composition selected and how well you have crafted this photo. The dark mtn in a black silouette...but, then creamy light foreground rocks...nice contrast! That appears quite purposeful on your part, perhaps even that you selected then brightened w/curves -n contrasted the creamy rocks. Solid sharpness thro-out. House is OK either way by my stds. The clear emerald green pool w/only a hint of blue reflecting sky is the real eye-catcher. It plays off, but does not repeat the colors of the blue water, very complimentary. (...say, I will have to add food-coloring dyes to my camera kit next time I go shoot outside, ...just kidding). Also, I like the pool size that you selected. Not too big. Great, as usual, timing and filtering of the sun and sky to avoid blowouts and mingle so nicely w/the rest of the exposure. Did you do much or any post processing of the rock? Really, whether yes or no, the result is the same great presentation.

Patrick, completely disagree with Aenders critique earlier concerning the house. It represents humans as miserable ants in front of mother nature. Sometimes scalability of picture should be presented and this is right time for sure. Brilliant shot full of jewel colours with touch of feather clouds and well structured stone patterns. Thanks

This is one excellent picture! Great composition with a strong foreground and perfect light.
One very minor criticism would concern the house on the right. It disturbes me a little bit in this otherwise marvelous image.

Some of the best I`ve ever seen. Colors, sharpness and depth is superb! I guess yoy have used ND grad filter and a cirpol? The lightning of the foreground and the details in the sky is perfect in my eyes. I like the visual seethrough of the water in front. That makes this picture something very special. Thanx for sharing!

Thank you Roar for your great comment. Yes I did use a Polarizer (Heliopan Slim) to remove the reflection from the pond and LEE ND Grad filters to capture the sunrise.

Chris, Beautiful moment in time captured well. Exposure is right on, good shadow and highlight details though out this image in this difficult lighting situation. I really like the range of colors in this image. Well done! Keep shooting and sharing, Gary
