A stunning capture....We really believe in happily ever after seeing the expression of the couple, excellent DOF, great color, and with the sharpness of the shot you can almost feel the brides gown.

Fantastic shot. Beautiful! Wonderful color, and I think the different crop adds alot to it.

The only thing I can think of; maybe saturate the water a bit more. Other than that: album material 101!

Excellent beach shot, I really like the color range added by the flowers, the closeness of the couple really conveys the feel of the moment. Thee composition and expresions are perfect. This has to be one of the best beach shots I have come across. Your portfolio is very rich and varied, congratulations. What is your main camera? I'm a Nikon guy as well and I'm very curious about what a pro like you use as THE camera, I realise you shot this with your back up. Thanks for sharing, Frank.

Thanks so much Frank. My main camera is the Fuji S2pro. Will most likely become my second body once Fuji comes out with the S4pro. D2x has possibilities too.

A great wedding shot Louise! As a wedding photographer myself I know how hard it is to get shots like this with, as you said ,cameras hanging off you, plus making sure the exposure is spot on. To me this is great, framing looks good, I don' think they need much more space around them. They look a happy relaxed couple, totally oblivious to the camera. Regards, John :)

wow! super picture! For me the crop is to tight. But mood of this picture is perfect. How did you made this frame? In Photoshope or did you take a ready one?

thanks, I used Photoframe Extensis. A plug in for photoshop. This frame is 'camera edge 19'.

I installed now Extensis Photoframe 2.5, found the buttom "edge", but how to create 'camera edge 19'????

There should be folders all with different names of the different frames. Click on 'add frame file' I think then navigate to where the different frames are, usually C/program files/Extensis etc.

Hi Louise... very happy looking couple and an unusual backdrop. Couple almost looks too happy taking on the apperance of cardboard cutouts . Not all that negative but think the framing effect works very well but figures are too close to edges and need some breathing room. Space will overcome some of the stiffness associated with her dress being very hot in places and lacking texture.

Took this into ps and messed with it to try and get some adjusts going to make the dress texture come out and couldnt. Suspect matrix meter was used and would go for center or spot here. This pic has way more impact in bw though with boosted black levels using levels...it really focuses more on the expression impact which is the magic of this pic and drops background to a more subtle natural backdrop...cheers, wog.

Thanks, I used the D70 on manual as my second camera body and always have troubles with whites blowing out. I have been working on resolving this challenge with this camera but when working extremely quickly in a wedding situation with other cameras hanging off me this was the resulting exposure. I still think it was worth posting and really don't think they look like cardboard cut outs.

Nice breezy photo of a great moment candidly observed. Has to be about the best on-the-beach wedding shot I've seen, and I've seen a few. Put this one on the list with the other for you-know-what. ;-)

Simply lovable. I like the way you treated the edges. the image is just perfect, very happy and inspiring. But i'm a little concerned that you framed all this beauty into a red-and-black frame. IMHO, it looks a little bit sad and therefore unnecessary. thank you.

Thank you. The black frame is by photosig, and the red is actually pink taken from her flowers. I agree that together it doesn't look good.

Louise, this a great photo. I love it! The colors are vibrant and the emotion that the photo conveys is very appealing. This has to be one of the best candid wedding photos I've seen anywhere. Outstanding job!

Very well done, Louise! Not sure why you decided on the "painted" border but it still works... Was this something you were paid to do or...? Definitely a worthy wedding shot!

Yes, I was the 'official' photographer why? Does it look amateur? I sort of let them go without bossing them around for a bit and was ready to fire when the moment came along! This was a rainy wedding day at the beach. We barely got thru it!

Oh and I did have it with just a plain white border but prefer the 'camera edge' treatment. Just personal preference I suppose. Thanks for the comments.

Heh. Sorry, Louise -- I didn't mean it that way. :)

I've been asked to do stuff like this for friends -- sort of as a "backup" to a "pro" photographer. I didn't know if this was from a real wedding or staged. etc, etc. It looks quite professional, actually.

I have yet to take my camera out in the rain. Even tho it has all the gaskets and such to keep moisture and dust out. Guess I'm a little paranoid that something will go wrong (and with me, that wouldn't be too far fetched! ;) )

No problem Eric... I have very high tech plastic bags with rubber bands to cover my gear when shooting in the rain :-) Waterproof flashes, cords, and cameras would be nice though!

Louise, this is outstanding - the pose looks like something out of a shot is a bridal magazine - and even the whimsical border works. Well done. I would, however, add just a little blue to the shot and lighten the mid-tones so the brightness of the shot matches the mood. (Try Levels at about 0 - 1.15 - 255.) But, the expressions and body language are PERFECT. I'll bet a million dollars that this shot makes the front of their wedding album. (Any bets placed on photoSIG are only for the purposes of illustrating feeling. No actual bet is expressed or implied. No money will change hands.) r

I didn't add much. In fact I think I added less than you could if you were using Elements at the finest adjustment. And, the guy's face is already almost blue enough - so you have to stop very early. Cheers, r
