I know a lot of people are getting tired of these drop pics, but I have gotten very addicted trying to capture the drops in different and unique stages. I felt this one is fairly exceptional. Thanks for looking, Jerry

I don't see anything I don't like in this beautiful shot. Yes, droplet shots all get to looking alike but you're right about this one being exceptional. I'd imagine you had to take quite a few pictures before you got one this nice. DOF is just right, the colors & pattern are great. I like the upside down halves in the top drops, even the dark pattern in the reflection is interesting, insect-like. OK, yes there is a little noise in the above water area in the background, it could use a little denoising. But it's not enough of a flaw to drop to a 2, I don't think.

Hey Bob, thanks for the good comments and crit. Did use a little noise reduction, but if you use too much it kills the sharpness. The noise is from the fact that the shot was underexposed. I took about 200 pics and ended up with about 5 that I actually like, best regards, Jerry

Inspirational. Yes, there has been almost a craze, lots of people have used their new fast clever digital cameras to take heaps of photos of dripping water and pick one that just about worked - but this shows you can still go the extra distance and produce something out of the ordinary. The colour, the shapes, the reflection, all add up to something special.
The background is disappointing, but I gather this may be where the image in the drop is coming from.
I've not been tempted to try this before, but now you've pointed the way forward ...

Thanks Keith, have taken some at a higher angle to eliminate the background that was behind the cup, but its hader to get good focus and DOF. Hope you give it a try look forward to seeing them. Thanks again, Jerry

I agree with you as well. I like the focus on the drop. Now it's time to start putting something very special into it.

Hey Dr Bob, do you agree that everyone is getting tired of these shots? Iknow I'm getting tired of trying to capture good ones. As far as putting something special into it, I'm not sure what you mean. Thanks for the critique, Jerry

I have to say so myself...even though this has been done numerous of times, you added something a little different which is a flower....I really like that.....not to mention the clarity of the drop.......and another thing that caught my eye is the drops own reflection........nice..........best regards erikp.

I agree that this is fairly exceptional. I can see a red flower in the refracted drop, if this is right. The red colour adds to the enhancement. Well done.

Thanks John, The flower in the drop is from a napkin with a poinsettia on it that I placed in the background. Thanks for the critique, Jerry
