IMO there is too much open sky in the picture. In this case, the rule of thirds would have give a more pleasing result.

Next thing is colour saturation and sharpness. As I don't know what scanner you used, or whether you scanned the film or the print, I can't comment further on that. Anyway, for landscapes, a slower film is always a safer bet.

As I imagine the scene before me, I would probably have lowered the direction of the camera (to get less sky) and turned a little to the left, so the lake would have formed a diagonal in the frame.

Thanks for comments. I had to do away with 1/3 rule, as I was on a platform from which I took the picture, so from my position if I had taken less of the sky - then the reflection part of the lake would be gone, and if I had take more of the sky - then the part of the platform would come in the picture. It's a scanned image- (Konica Dimage).
