Here's my submission for the Self Portrait Diptych Assignment.

While I'm normally known as a happy/silly/fun/easy-going guy, this self portrait, created at a time of great change in my life, was intended to expose the usually-hidden darker part of my psyche and deliver the message "Don't mistake my kindness for weakness".

I'm really not as mean as the picture makes me seem! :)

The title "Angry Shoes" is a reference to one of my favorite movies, "Fear of a Black Hat".

Comments appreciated.

Note: I intentionally pushed the contrast of this image to it's extreme limits to maximize dynamic range. If the highlights in the forehead seem blown out, it's likely that your monitor's brightness is a little too high.

I am not sure why noone commented on this one.. maybe because its good..?? I like the detail and the pushed contrasts.. the off center composition and the black background all work well in creating the feel here.. and interesting that this dark mysterious side is not your normal personality.. hmmm.. overall great portrait.. e
