Yes, Kansas really is flat as a pancake, LOL! All comments & critiques appreciated. Edited with Paint shop pro to filter the noise, saturate & applied a Flaming Pear Melancholytron filter to enhance the mood.

I like the angle the photo was taken. The up pointing windmill and inclining clouds give a up floating feeling. The layers of colors add to the mood. Great shot!

Thanks so much Yongsheng! Instead of squaring up on the windmill and stepping back from it, I lowered 2 legs of the tripod so I was pointing up to get the angle so I could get as much of the sky as possible. Its really hard to capture the vast expanse of space and how far you can see here in the flatland!

The red, oranges, and blues look great together. I like the horizon leading up into the weather vain' silhouette. Great how the clouds are open on the blades.

Thanks Billy, I appreciate it. The sky was really great that evening, better than I could have hoped for!

A fantastic sunset image that reminds me a lot of Alberta... one of my favorite places. The colours are stunning... oranges, yellows, reds and blues. I really enjoy the silhouette as it helps add scale and interest to the image. I would like to see the horizon line just a little higher in the image (being picky)... other than that... great shot! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Steven, funny you would mention Alberta, I used to live there! I wasn't sure if the lower perspective on this would be received well or not.

Oh what the heck I'll give it 3TU because windmills in the sunset is one of my fav subjects. The sunsets in the great plains are incredible and I have always wanted to drive across the US just to see the dramatic skies in the middle. It's places like this that secure the United States' survival in the future world, where natural resources (food!) will determine power and not money, like today. The great plains account for a massive amount of the entire world's food production capabilities. Just look at grain exports of countries around the world. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Andy & you're right, we are in the heart of the bread basket. This windmill is in a wheat field. There are few places that have as nice of sunsets as are here in the fall time!

Tina, a very nice silhouette. I like the colors in the clouds and sky. Parts of the photo appear a bit soft, but it's really not bad. A good job.

Thanks Bob, I appreciate your comments. I was a little hurried getting this set up as I was worrying about missing the sunset. I started at another windmill but it wasn't going to work.
