Steven-
Great job! I think the exposure on this was great. The only thing that I would have liked to have seen is darker silhouettes so there is no detail in the faces. I think the shot would have been so much more emotive if this were the case. That is the only reason I didn't give you 3 TU's.

Strong, iconic image...nicely composed with the dark diagonal of the couple set against the bright diagonal of the sea & sky....especially like your use of the light sparkle from the waves as visual (and thematic) counterpoint to the romantic shadow of the silhouettes. That being said, I'm still not sure that this as "icon" really works as effectively as it might. I find myself distracted by the back & forth bounce of positive and negative space (too reminiscent, perhaps, of the old visual puzzle: is it a vase or two profiles?)... is the visual backdrop too bright? or the faces themselves too dark? The whole seems a bit too 2-dimensional. Clearly an eye-catching image, regardless!

when I saw this image i knew i was going to have to comment on it. When it got bigger it only got better. I love the detail, and how the darkness is i the faces, but yet you can still see the exspression. I really think thats the thing that pulls the whole image together. I also love how you managed to get jsut enough of the sunset in the background. Just enough, without leaving out the reection off the water. That really comes togther as a nice compostion. That really is awesome. Nice work. Thanks so much for sharring. =]

Very sensuelle photo of a couple but the silhouette is very soft which really disturbs me. Besides, I really like the framing and the expression. Keep working on it.. Thanks..

This is a great shot. Maybe having the background at a place of interest or point of reference would spice this up to a 3tu, as that shore line could be anywhere. I don't mind the slight highlight on the eye. This is a very touching photo!
Thanks,
Shawn.

A few things come to mind...
First, I like silhouettes, but I think that (at least in this particular case) I don't care for the partial-silhouette you have (by still being able to see the detail in the eyes, etc. If you were to darken those areas of the image, and then crop out the man's jacket and hair, you'd have a very powerful photo with some great lines.
As a matter of fact, I just opened your image in PS and did just that. It looks fantastic!

Great concept. I'm glad you didn't have tons of attention stealing colors in the background. The little bit of hilights on the faces brings this shot up a notch. The minor irritation is the hair in the upper right corner, it doesn't need to be there, maybe a slim crop is in order.

Thank you, Nabil -- I was worried that the loss of the hair might make the woman appear bald. I'll try it and see what happens. Thanks for the comments!
