I like this picture as well and I see same problem: bottom of statue should disappear in the dark (you might do sth about this light behind plinth too). The shadows are nicely spilled over the shoulder and the whole impression is good.

This is one of the most interesting photos I've seen on photoSig and it leaves me dying to know more. (Which is, I suppose, a mark of a great photo. The off center placement fits with the off kilter head placement. It's also tonally stunning. The only issue I think lies with the bottom of the statue. I'd like to see none of the base, having it just dissolve into blackness.

If you're not averse to digital postprocessing, you can try overlaying a gradient (transparent --> black). That could get such an effect...
