While this is certainly a stunning portrait of a fence, it's also an excellent abstract. I love the structures left and right to it being the same, thus showing how artificial and absurd the idea of a fence can be despite it's natural look here. I like the curves it makes, lurching like the course of a sleepy fly, and how the end of it is somewhat uncertain, bent to the right and fading. Actually I feel this fence is about to become part of the weed on both sides, it's just in the process of transformation. I love the tones nicely softening the harsh light and the diagonal that isn't too accurate, I also like the slight sepia added. Real great shot, congratulations!
Regards, U.

Hi. I've seen one of those fences a few days ago, but didn't think it'd give out so well. I guess I still need to train my eye... You've done an interesting shot here, and I'm sure B&W works great. The choice of subject is original while the subject itself is quite common. The composition is perfect. Maybe something could be done with the framing. This black darkens the picture more than necessary, IMO. Have you tried a thin light line before the black one? It often enhances a midtone picture. Thanks for posting.

Hi Jean, thanks for your critique; and for the tip about the frame, it looks much better with a light tin line! :)
