I took this at Silver Falls in Oregon today. It was my first time there and I was very impressed. This falls is one of many in the park and is 177 ft high. It is hard to tell that it is that high, but you can see the trail that goes behing the falls. I have a few more to post so please keep in eye out in the next few days as I build up critique points...Dean

This is an excellent photo in my opinion. I dont see anything really to change, atleast that you would have control over. Great job.

Dean,

Excellent exposure conrol to give the water a nice smooth feel and anf keep the details in the surrounding area crisp. The composition is nice but I would have prefered less intrussion by the tree branches. The clarity is very good throughout with the water giving a nice smooth effect as it hits the pool at the base of the falls. Colors are good and lighting is spot on. Excellent shot.

Regards Mike

I can deem essentially nothing wrong with this shot, and I actually like the tree being in front of the scene. The 4sec exposure worked out well for the smoothing of the water.

I live in Oregon myself, and can vaugly remember visiting Silver Falls. Can't say it was great as I don't remember it, but from your shot I might be taking a little road trip...

Very nice scene Dean. Very difficult to grasp the scale here. Was suprized reading header, thought was much smaller. If the trail wasnt pointed out it would seem impossible. Guess the size of rocks vrs distance doesnt make them resolved. Maybe less dof and focus point on falls would blur out front tree and gives sense of depth better than long dof in this, as the main subject is on a pretty flat plane anyhow. Feel cooler now viewing this :)
