Very deep look. I like everything exept the shadow on the left at the bottom.
Cheers.

Initially this image grabs your attention, but what grabs your attention is the girls face, which is amazing. Then as look at the picture there are the tchnical points that start to get to you. The lack of any detail in the black jacket, the shadows on the forehead, the object in the background, the finger on the right hand looks ugly. I know it's nit picking but thats what stops it being a 3TU for me.

A beautiful portrait. I am a little late to the party with this critique, but it did give me an opportunity to go through your portfolio of submitted work. Your exposures are stunning. Such rich blacks and velvety skin tones. Great images, and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

This is a nice portrait. She has an interesting pose that draws attention to her pretty face. The blck and white tones also work well, they compliment the hair colour of the model, and would be more effective then a colour shot.

Excellent photo! Very nice. She is absolutely beautiful and her expression couldn't be more perfect - not inviting, but not stand-offish either. Great background. Steady enough for clarity and focus but enough wind for action in the hair. Only distraction is the stool or something in the background but that's not enough to keep it from three thumbs. This one goes onto my favorites list.

Several people have commented on the out of focus object bottom right. I don't think it is particularly distracting. In fact, it serves to keep the shot from being too clinical and sterile. That bit of hair movement does the same for me - it moves this image out of the class of predictable classic shots and into something with a life of its own. Fantastic image!

Every once in a while a photograph just captures the viewer. This is one of those!
While not overtly so, a very sexy image. Your B&W conversion is excellently done and, please, disregard the post below regarding the histogram. There's a lot of black in this photo hence the histogram to the left. DOH!
Very, very well done!

I like the harsh contrast - it suits very well in this case, giving the photo a "pushed TriX look" from the 70's. The girls posing is perfect resulting in a great portrait. To my personal taste, I'd clone out the object or whatever it is from the corner.

The sharpness of the eyes is just beautiful, with sparkling catchlights too! I couldn't initially look anywhere else in the picture. The stormy background adds to the mood of the picture, and i'm not bothered by the small out of focus detail at the bottom right.
The only thing that i personally don't like is that the top section of the model's hair is catching the wind, or fan as the last poster suggested. I'm sure that it was your decision to include this element - looking through your other pictures tells me that you are very a very accomplished photographer and would have thought this aspect of the picture through. It does add a certain amount of drama, but i personally would have prefered either less movement or more of the hair to be in motion to create even more drama in the image.
Other than that, you've got a striking image of a very beautiful woman with bags of atmosphere!
Pete

The histogram indicates a bias towards the "dark side". Nice pose and all, but next time check your histogram and adjust it for some bit of true white.

Because her dress is black, he should overexpose her face to get a neutral histogram?! Histograms are not an end in itself they are a tool like an exposure meter. And like using an exposure meter you also have to understand when not to rely on a histogram: This is a typical scene with a dominant black dress. This site is about great photographs, not great histograms. :o) -Marc

A proper adjustment would not have overexposed her face, so relax!

I don't know and more importantly, I don't care!! Why can't people just critique or comment on a picture with out copying it off the site and then doing multiple tests on it in photoshop!!

Super! Very nice work of both model & photographer.. Very appealing scene and postprocessing. Thing in the bottum-left corner could be edited away, but doesn't make it a 2TU to me..
Compliments!

WOW! What a shot! The model's pose/expression couldn't be better...this really works. Her top being dark adds a very nice contrast to the shot and her hair flowing is a great added touch! The only thing that bothers me about the shot, which is what keeps it from being a three thumb, is the object in the bottom-left of the frame...I would certainly use some editing software to remove it. 2 1/2 Thumbs!

Simply wonderful! Great capture of the face, especially eyes and hair. Perfect composition and cropping, everything important to the scene is on the picture, and only important - nothing above. The background creates a mood adequate to the look of her face. Also the grain is very nice. Great work here!

Nice portrait. You should remove the object in the background (bottom, left). It takes away from the quality of the photograph. Perhaps try croping the photo a little closer. Maybe at the elbows and the top of the head. The fan is a cool technique, but i dont think it works with this photo.
