Actually, I think this is very good. I like the intensity of his gaze and his eyes. I like the crop at the top, and think it could even be a little lower, if you wanted. I like the lighting a lot, especially in the eyes. Two minor issues: His hair blends into the background in places. Different lighting or a slightly lighter backdrop could resolve this, or some serious Photoshopping. Also, he has a hangnail on his ringer on the far right side, which is somewhat distracting since the hands are such a major element of the photo. This could easily be retouched a little with Photoshop as well. Minor complaints aside, this is a good photo.

I think this shot has a lot of potential, the concept is interesting though I have a few suggestions if u don't mind:
the top is too tightly cropped i would not have chopped the hair because it seems a key element of the models look
the frame doesn't really frame the face, which would not be an issue if the triangles formed by the hand with the face where more uniform (head tilted slightly)
I would reflect some light into the right side of the face to balance the light out a bit more
thats just my opinion though and its all really subjective
