Shot this afternoon with a mickey mouse desk lamp set up. Another one trying to get back to what I want to do, versus what my art school profs would generally prefer.

Love the shot, love the coloring. Subtle lighting and use of shadow. Almost can't tell if the majority is B&W or sepia-ish. Definately draws you in and as I said on one of your others, I can tell you were 'feeling' the shot. I like the intimate feeling but I probably would have moved the pillow. I really love your work, esp the 'stuff you want to do'. I see so much potential in you... I just wish you could move away from feeling you have to tell us there is a difference between what your profs want and what you want to do. We all know that! It makes me feel you are lacking the confidence you have earned the right to have at this point.

I hope I don't spoil your fantasy, but there is some influence of your academic study in this, too. It is a more "realistic" setting than you would have allowed a year ago. You have also place a knee where you wouldn't have done last year. In general I think you are allowing more to creep into your photos than you used to. You are more confident I suspect.

This is a meditation, a warm and thoughtful space in the frame.

Very nice image; I think this is one of the strongest in your portfolio. I can't tell what's hand tinted or what's desaturated, but the chilly skin tones contrast nicely with both the texture and colors of the lips and the robe. You reveal a lot of yourself in your images without giving much away; they're often very inwardly directed. I hope that makes sense.

Well done. Thanks for posting.

Sarah, The plum red blanket and lipstick give the entire photograph a soft red glow. Even the cheeks have the "pinch" blush effect. I'm not trying to be an expert but this is what I see. Awesome full lips are accented by the lipstick and contrast of the light skin and shadows....very appealing. It does live up to the title. I love the way you have her eyes closed in the photograph. The observer want's to see them. Teaser you are. Wanting to see more of your work. That soft plum glow does add to your title for me you know. Black and white or color, only the photographer knows. Good job. Raul X.
