Another from the Fairbanks Folk Music Festival. This was the first act I saw. I used my 75-300mm zoom at the 300mm end. I was doing all I could to be a "human tripod" at the speed I was shooting. I zoomed in to the point od cropping part of his head, hand and guitar to try to create a closeness and intimacy. This works, I think, especially with the way he is picking the guitar and looking down. It wouldn't have worked if he was looking out at the audience and strumming. The inclusion of the microphone is intentional to indicate performance rather than just playing. I color corrected, resized, and sharpened in PS.

Amazing shot. You even can see his concentration. It's little bit pity that one of his fingers is "cut" - I would like to see all of them. Mic really fits here. Waiting for another your pictures - and thanks for share

Hello Chris, I think you did a great job considering the circumstances. I think copping hte head worked out and created the intimacy you were looking for. I feel if you shot the whole hand it would have improved the image greatly. I agree about the mic. I think it is very good and it is an iteresting frame and composition. Light, focus, and contrast is good. I wish the hand was there but all in all this is a nice image. Thanks for sharing, Richard
