the room is a bit spooky because it is so empty yet it feels like the room is still filled with some entity. it draws me closer because the mystery of the room makes me wonder about the history of the room. i want to know what has happened in this space. as far as technicality goes, i feel that the window is overexposed and the blinding light is distracting. you should burn that area a bit to uncover the details.

I quite like this composition, with its delightfully reflective floor and the rich tones throughout. But the 'watermark'! Two are certainly no better than one in this pic...

My apologies for not leaving a comment with my first rating.

The only little problem is the over-exposed area in the window, but great composition... and not an easily solved problem, this window... ND Grad maybe. PS would help a bit, but no way to get this back 100%... An exposure set closer to matching the brighter areas could have been interesting too - very dark in the dark, so very moody...

Shades of Kafka. Mystery is your middle name. Looks good on my monitor. Very nicely seen. Too bad that you had to put the text in.

Cool. I love geometric shots like this when they are well executed, and this one is. In fact, that flare at the window and the one or two hot spots at the apex of the arch around the window are all that stops me from calling it perfect and giving it a three thumbs up. Superb! One of those pics that just feels instinctively *right* somehow.

the shadowing is good but I agree there is too much light from the window. Speaking of the window the reflection is not from the floor, is it?

if this is not done digitally, did you use a grad filter ? anyhow...this is a nice composition...I love how the diagonal floor design takes you to the window and the wall. I may have liked this even more without your " trademark" signs in the image..now I am been picky....I also like that you choose a monochrome over colour.....by the way...if you could use a model here....so many ideas I`d have in this great simple setting

One can tell it is not a digital picture, SO? My amature eye likes it except for the too bright glare from the window.

Very nice, but then again, I love black and white checkered floors! The image is very artistically sound!

Aw hell, I'll give you a three just because James ran out of his and because this is a great photo.

Excellent. Like I said in another critique somewhere, the burnt out bit is good, all part of the overall effect. Really superb. Andrew

Pretty slick, Rick. I'm guessing that somebody somewhere will wish the window weren't glared out quite so much, but it doesn't bother me. I love the ladder going to... what on earth is it for?!? And I want to know what is in that lil cubby hole, it looks so nice to squeeze into. I could do without your logo appearing twice, but maybe that's supposed to be a parallel to the reflected window. Artsy, but still distracting.

You don't get a three... just because. I ran out of em.
