the sharpness is on the girl's shoulder, which leaves the orange out of focus. I am not sure it's the best decision for this shot. I think that probably the orange should be in focus and then I'd decide whether to increase DOF to have the girl in focus too, or leave her a little bit soft.

Poor orange,
nice girl,
good capture ....
Which one was important for you ?? Orange, or grasping
What is the correlation between the girl, orange, grasping and
the name of the photo ??

Great shot you captured a nice cinematic expresion, good emphasis on her face with the lateral lighting. As for the hand and orage; the short lens and large aperture used here, sure messes up the perspective and make imposible to get everything in the same plane of view, causing an interesting effect (thus all the views). I don't think this is one of your best.

Excellent! Great impact and generates several questions: that or who she is escaping from? What does an half orange in her hand?
Pose, lighting, cropping, composition, use of DOF, blurring, and her expression too, all works very very well. Congrats. Emilio

This shot has got movement, colours and some nice touchs I like very much. The drops on her chest are absolutely cool. Even the (maybe too saturated) orange is interesting. by the way, what's the meaning of it ? does it have to keep the viewer's eyes in the photo or else? by the way you are one of photographers I appreciate the most in here and you did have a wonderful model. Keep sharing! Ciao, Enrico

Maby not perfect because of light and this orange in hand but i like this photo. It have much movement and energy. The advantage of orange colour in contrast with dark green is really interesting. The composition and pose of modell is almost prefect for me. But this orange ruins it but not quite. Maby girl id addition for orange? Light in photo is for me a bit accidental maby. Im under impression that photo it really looks good.

Superb ... LOVE the colours and lighting direction.
The lighting is a little hot on the face and on the hand .. but only the latter really bothers me.
I find the hand is a bit distracting and competes with her face ... not sure if it's the size in frame, the intensity of the light or both. I wonder if dodging that area would help here?
As for the model, I would have liked to see more expression on her face (scared or exasperated).
Overall .. great image!

Run Anila, run/Running from her other Half in the Jungle of Love
A reminder of the Film Run Lola Run by Tom Tykwer with Franka Potente, it has the visuals, the motion and the style. Its also an expressive take where the "Actress" here shows the Emotion of Being breathless in her Run. It has suspense and a story to tell. Was she having an orange when she started being chased. Who's or what she's running from? Great combination of warm colours. As Janet Maslin said in The New York Times about Run Lola Run, this shot "its a furiously kinetic display of pyrotechnics , that fuses lightning-fast visual tricks, tirelessly shifting styles and the arbitrary possibilities of interactive storytelling..." This photo is no less. Great choreographed take. Could be the start of a new movie. Is there any sequel coming?

1. You should find another way for hand or may be use telephoto lens, because the proportion of hand/head is wrong. It's looks bad in this portrait.
2. I'm not sure that the vibration of hair looks good. You should set 1/400 of shorter.
3. I think this light is not optimal.

Compositionaly it works perfectly...and the lighting is first class...what experience do you bring to the table? Could you light this better than it already is?
It's easy to sit on the side lines thinking "yeah I could have done this better"...but the fact is "no" you can't. Has anyone ever tried to duplicate skilled lighting techniques and for it to come out so differently?
Anyway...it's all interpretation and the photographer should be commended for attempting it and succeeding in achieving a pleasing image.
Ciao Pepe.

His experience or ability to improve the lighting isn't relevant. I would guess that many people who gave this picture good reviews don't have as much experience as the photographer. While I think this picture is exceptional, especially the saturation and lighting, it doesn't make the opinion of someone who doesn't like it invalid. He gave specific details about what he didn't like, in a constructive way.

Of course it's relevant...his experience has everything to do with it...it validates his comments.
Ever talk politics at home with the family? Ever given your opinion about an issue you thought you knew about but really didn't know the facts? Well the same applies here.

What do facts have to do with evaluating art? Or, put another way, what did he say that conflicted with a fact?

"the proportion of hand/head is wrong. It's looks bad in this portrait" It is a real creation in Multidimensionality of subjects and double perspective. Unusual if one wants but original DOF work. To me it looks real good!. The effects really trigger the action. BC/Luis

Ha-ha-ha... I'm a user of photosig.com only three days and as I see these people like only positive feedbacks. Is it alright? :) Everybody really think that my critique is unhelpful?? May be I should close my eyes and write: "all flawless, do it again in this way".

Do you know how hard it is to get a good glass of freshly squeezed OJ by a hot chick wearing tiger fur...it's not easy my friend...not at all....
Great colours, just great...what's happening here....it's out of my realm but it's still very appealing. The hair and the Orange could be sharper or in focus, but that's something that takes a few other attempts...a slightly faster shutter, and wider aperture. Awesome Shot.Carey

...overall impression is very positive... i like the models's hair--very dynamic... and the tone of her skin--excellent... the orange is a nice idea but it looks a bit artificial, as if made of wax... i am not sure about the fabric of the model's top; maybe smth matching the orange would work better?... well done...

I do get the sense that she is running but I dont get the orange. The droplets under her shoulder on her chest arent adding anything to the composition and I just keep wanting to wipe them off. The lighting is great in nearly every part but on her face, which is most important, I would think. The position of her hand holding her orange causes her forearm to block part of her upper arm causing the arm to appear skeletal, which isnt flattering this very beautiful model. Love the hair, love the makeup, love the crop. Its a very good shot.

The color, lighting and model are just superb. Ive looked at your other work and especially liked Anila Orange. So I know that the hand out of focus and out of proportion must be intentional. I like this photo but that hand just bothers when the rest of the photo is so perfect. Youre the photographer so its your call. Just wish you explained what you were trying to do.

I like the idea here and the model and lighting on her are pretty good too, but I think her hand is way to large. What type of lens did you shoot this with wide angle? its distorted quite a bit, as it looks like her hand is as big as her head.
also the spot on the backdrop bothers me as well, I think a solid black backdrop would work better in my opinion. cheers. adrian

Lola, rennt! ;] nice touch with the orange - stylish one, i would say. i think addinb a small drop of additional contrast would bring an improvement here, but still my 3TU to this image. keep up your good work, Mircea.

I'm wondering about the orange. I really like the colour scheme you have here, the oranges and browns contrast nicely with the green background light. Perhaps a bit faster shutter speed could have caught the hair sharper, if you were going for a blur to give the shot more energy, I think a little slower shutter would be more appropriate to accentuate the motion.

Very sharp and great lighting and composition - works well as a fashion shot (or a posh advert for oranges) . I am particulary impressed with the lighting and quality around the models face a shot I aspire of being able to take
