Although I know it is not pleasant for the dog and I pitty her this is a very lovely picture. The picture is very good taken and it shows precisely how the dog is resigned in her fate.

Hey Arno, I wondered when you'd post one of your lovely dogs again :)
This one (not sure if it's a he or she as you called it both in your reply) looks so peaceful, esp considering they have the collar on. The detail you have in the fur looks very good and DOF is good too.
Crop wise I think you're a little too tight on the top of the collar and could have done with giving it a little more room but composition wise this shot works esp as we see the rest of the dog in the back of the shot.
Colours and tones are nice with no obvious hot spots, even in the white of the fur :) Lovely shot Arno :) Would like to see this same shot when they've got their collar off too! :)
Glad to hear they are doing well too :)

It's a nice photo which captures a mood. I have to ask was he still under the influence in this shot. When I have had the samething on my animals they really try to get rid of it. I don't see any tell tale scratches or any marks on the 'Dish'. Anyways I like the dof and the mood and he is a beautiful animal. I wish you and he the best.

Thanks for your reaction. No she is not under the influence of anaestetics, only in a deep rest.Surgery was 2weeks ago.
The dog (an Alaskan Malamute) is 10 years old and in a perfect shape and condition. He had a big benign on his feet and had problems to walk with it. Now he is walking and jumping as a little puppy again. She is very quiet with the disk around his neck, but if we remove the disk she starts immediately with a try to take out the stitches.
So he has to walk around like this for another couple of weeks.
